3 Tips To Make Your Next Painting Project More Enjoyable

Do you have a painting project coming up that you are dreading? Then this blog is for you. Your next painting project does not have to be such a hassle! There are a few tips and tools you can implement so your next project can be more enjoyable.

1. Take extra on the prep work to save time later.

Give attention to the areas that are:

  • Cracked, flaking or peeling.
  • Cover holes and gaps properly.
  • Remove light switches and outlet covers.
  • Cover anything you want protected from paint, including furniture.
  • Move furniture to the middle of the room when painting the walls.

This is an easy painting tip you can follow that will make your painting project have a more elevated and polished look.

2. Invest in tools that will save you time.

Whether you have a large paint job or a small one, make your painting project easier by investing in painting tools that will aid you in a worry-free project. Buy painters tape to section off what is being painted and what is being protected. Use roller covers to quickly and evenly cover large areas with paint, stain or other finishes. Be sure to use an extension pole so you can reach the maximum amount of area with the least effort — and without straining your back.

3. “Box” your paint.

Get the paint salesperson to help you with a realistic estimate of how much paint you’ll really need so that you can buy it all at once. Then, instead of using one gallon at a time, combine all the paint into one large container and mix it thoroughly. This is known as “boxing” your paint, and it keeps your color consistent from beginning to end. This will add ease to your painting project because you are saving yourself the back-and-forth trips from the paint store.

Now that you have these tips you can implement them on your next project! Remember you can always call on SPPI for your painting needs, starting with a free estimate and walk through!
